Dilip Kumar secretly visited Pakistan twice: Khurshid Kasuri

MUMBAI (Web Desk) – Former Pakistani foreign minister, Khurshid Kasuri on Tuesday revealed that Indian actor Dilip Kumar visited Pakistan twice on a secret mission in a bid to mend ties between the two neighbouring countries.
Kasuri visited Dilip Kumar at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai and spent an hour with the actor and his wife Saira Banu discussing topics ranging from politics to films.
The former minister was accompanied by his book launch organizer Sudheendra Kulkarni.
Elaborating on the reason behind visiting the Bollywood legend, Kasuri said,”Dilip Kumar Saab visited Pakistan twice secretly to bring Hindus and Muslims together. I have disclosed it in my book (Neither a hawk nor a dove) as well. He is one guy who can bring India and Pakistan together. I gifted him my book and he signed and gifted me his autobiography. To me, this signed book will hold great significance. I wish Dilip Saab a long and healthy life.”
Earlier in the day, Kasuri visited Mani Bhavan and Jinnah house to pay tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and Mohammad Ali Jinnah respectively.
To a question regarding Dawood Ibrahim’s alleged whereabouts in Pakistan, he said, “I was the Foreign Minister of Pakistan and not the Interior Minister. To say whether or not he(Dawood) was in Pakistan, I was neither a spy nor the head of ISI.”

KASURI’S BOOK LAUNCHED DESPITE SHIV SENA THREATS

Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri s book was launched in Mumbai on Monday hours after columnist Sudheendra Kulkarni, who organized the event, was attacked with black paint by Hindu extremist group Shiv Sena activists for refusing to cancel the event.
Later, six Shiv Sena workers were arrested for the paint attack.
The Shiv Sena, a junior partner in a ruling coalition with the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Maharashtra state government, says there should be no engagement with Pakistan at any stage.
Last week, the party forced the cancellation of legendary Pakistani Ghazal singer Ghulam Ali s concert in Mumbai.
