Younis Khan set to beat Miandad's total in England series

LAHORE – Younis Khan, Pakistan’s former captain will attempt to surpass Javed Miandad’s record total of 8,832 runs in 124 Tests in England series.
Khan stands third in the list of top scorers produced by Pakistan after Miandad and Inzamamul Haq. Causally called Inzi has a total of 8,830 runs in 120 Test matches. Khan requires 19 runs to top the list.
‘Khan of Mardan’ has put 8,814 runs in what is said to be a rather minimal figure of 101 Test matches. The 37-year-old batsman’s run rate tops that of Miandad and Inzi with 54.07.
Khan also has the honour of scoring the highest number of centuries, 30 in Test format in Pakistan’s kit. In an interview to an Indian channel, Khan said that he, in no way, is at level that of cricket legend Miandad. He had not thought of breaking such a record in his career, he added.
He further said that he could have made a new record in matches against Sri Lanka but Misbah scored some quick runs. Khan said that cricket is a team’s game first and Pakistan needed that win against Sri Lanka. Misbah did what he was supposed to do against Sri Lanka, he added.
Khan had started his career with a ton like Miandad in debut match against Sri Lanka in 2000. In 2014’s Pakistan win against Australia with 2-0, Khan summed up 468 runs. It was Pakistan’s first win over Australia in Test in past 20 years.
